I don’t know about you guys, but July just seemed to fly by, and all of a sudden, we’re already a week into August. To be fair though, it was an extremely jam-packed month for me. I travelled to New Zealand for the first time on a little holiday with my cousin and I’ve been working so much since we’ve been back. But we all know what working means; more makeup buys!
Anyway, into a very belated July Favourites post!
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet Perfume
Earlier this year, while watching Kathleen Lights on Youtube, she mentioned wanting to buy a new scent every time she travels somewhere new, and only use that fragrance while away, so when you wear it again back home, you’ll be reminded of your trip! And lightbulb moment! – why don’t I do that as well? So during my stay in New Zealand, I browsed the cosmetics counters in Ballantynes Department Store in Christchurch, and I found myself drawn to the beautiful bottles of Miss Dior perfumes. After much musing, I decided on the Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet fragrance. I’m a perfume hoarder in my spare time, and have nothing like this beautiful delicate floral scent, and given that we’re only a few months out of the warmer months, I knew I just had to have it.
Described on the Dior website:
The fresh and sparkling Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a composition designed like a dress embroidered with a thousand flowers. This floral bouquet pays homage to Christian Dior’s legendary passion for flowers.
Top Note: Calabrian Bergamot
Heart Note: Damascena Rose Absolute & Peony

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in ‘Mood Exposure’
I’d been toying with the idea of purchasing a new blush from Hourglass, but had always been put off by the price: $57AUD at mecca.com.au. But the ‘Justification God’ was working in my favour and the Mecca Beauty Loop boxes were released while I was away, and of course, I couldn’t miss out on my Level 3 Special edition box. So I jumped online and made a sneaky purchase so it would be waiting for me when I got home. I figured this is probably the best time to buy something I’d wanted for such a long time.
It is honestly the most beautiful blush I’ve ever had the privilege of applying to my face. With that stunning marbled pattern, it creates a soft luminosity, with a very slight shimmer (that is definitely not chunky glitter). It’s the perfect everyday blush for that ambient glow! (For reference, I have very pale skin, and I apply all blush very lightly with a fluffy tapered blush brush)
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in ‘Gleam’
I gave into the hype and purchased my very first Anastasia Beverly Hills product in late June as a little birthday present to myself (justified). One of the products I grabbed was the Glow Kit in ‘Gleam’ which is specifically designed for pale skin. I’m one of those people who is absolutely obsessed with ‘that glow’ and couldn’t resist such a great product that would allow me to try out four full sized highlighters from ABH. From the four in the kit, my favourite shade is definitely ‘Star Burst’. Applied with the Real Techniques Bold Metals Tapered Blush Brush to the high points of the cheeks, it creates an intense glow, without looking sparkly or powdery.
Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette
This palette is definitely not new to the shelves, or to me, but it has recently made an epic comeback into my makeup routine. When you’re as obsessed with makeup as I am and have a habit of hoarding more eyeshadows than you could possibly use in an entire lifetime, sometimes things get forgotten and end up at the bottom of the pile. In the last month, I’ve been trying to get old favourites back into rotation, and the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette is one that has quickly become a favourite again. With soft pinks and golden rosy tones, its perfect for day-time wear as well as night with the addition of a few darker shades which allow you to create a beautiful sultry smoky eye. I’m obsessed!
Mecca Cosmetica Tinted Lip De-Luscious in ‘Berry’
I picked this up from Mecca Maxima a couple of months back on a whim – I was looking for something super moisturising, with an SPF and a little bit of colour – and a tinted lip balm definitely fit the bill. It has an SPF25 which is perfect for daytime wear. I’m definitely guilty of forgetting to protect my lips with an SPF, so I needed something easy to carry around and apply. I use it most days for work as all I need is something soft and moisturising for those heated/air conditioned office environments.
